Programme Overview

This qualification is for people who enjoy learning about the more technical aspects of computing including diagnosing and solving problems and hands-on computer repair. Whether you are changing your career or just starting out, this qualification gives you a well recognised and highly regarded qualification in a short time.

This qualification provides hands on sessions and includes a 4-week internship with a local IT company.

What will I learn?

This qualification provides IT training in a range of skill sets, including:

  • Identifying and understanding basic PC components.
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting a range of computer components.
  • Designing, installing and managing computer networks using Windows Server.
  • Installing, configuring, and upgrading operating systems.

Upon completion of this IT qualification, students will be able to:

  • Operate and maintain a personal computer.
  • Identify, compare and operate different computer components (Motherboards, RAM, CPU’s, Hard Drives, Printers, Portable PC’s).
  • Install and configure the Windows operating system.
  • Install and troubleshoot computer peripherals.
  • Configure and administer a Local Area Network using Windows Server.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network problems and manage network security.

Fees include all campus based learning guides, texts, and access to resources, except vendor certificate exams.

2016 Domestic Students Fees:

$7,640 + $500 enrolment fee   (GST inclusive).

NOTE: Qualification fees are a guide only. Actual domestic fees will depend on when a programme is started and what year the qualification is completed. Fees may increase by up to 2% next year, so students will be required to pay this extra on any remaining courses of the programme that need to be completed beyond 2016.
